Food Security?
People get confused by the terms “food insecurity” and “food security.” Food insecurity is about helping hungry families - something Londoners have generously supported. Food security is about creating a community where food is affordable, available and accessible to all who live here, regardless of their circumstances. For the last four years, the London Food Bank has placed its emphasis on food security and the ability of all Londoners to afford the food that they require.

Food Banks as a Lifeline: Canada’s New Normal.
Every year, food banks across the country are setting new records. This year, they recorded nearly 2.2 million visits in a single month. That’s double the monthly usage recorded just six years ago. It took decades to reach one million visits in a month, and it has now taken half a decade to double that.

Hunger Report 2024: Unravelling at the Seams
The 2024 Hunger Report provides analysis of the data gathered by the Ontario food bank network between April 1st, 2023, and March 31st, 2024.
This year’s report includes an in depth look at how the services and supports provided by food banks are being affected by escalating demand and the affordability crisis. The report looks at food bank use over the year and provides insights to the misconceptions of who is relying on food banks and why poverty reduction strategies are urgently needed.
