What is it?

Plant a Row, Grow a Row is an initiative to encourage gardeners to grow an extra row of their favourite veggies and donate the harvest to the London Food Bank.

Why "grow a row" for the London Food Bank?

The London Food Bank helps over 3350 families a month and more than 20 other agencies and programs that assist people experiencing poverty.  There is always a need to increase the amount of fresh produce that is handed out, and this campaign puts fresh, local food into the hands of people who need it the most.

How do I get more information?

Sign up using this form.  We will keep you informed via email about tips, upcoming events, and how to donate your harvest.  You can also learn more about the national Plant a Row, Grow a Row program at www.growarow.org

How do I prepare and donate my harvested vegetables?

Harvest your veggies, wash off the soil, trim the excess leaves, and deliver directly to the London Food Bank or contact us for a neighbourhood drop-off location. When you harvest your produce bring it to us at 926 Leathorne Street, north-east of the intersection of Adelaide Road South and Commissioners Road East. We are open Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays from 10 AM to 12 PM to receive donations. Please do not leave donations outside when we are closed. When bringing your donations inside, please let the volunteer or staff know you are dropping off for "Plant a Row, Grow a Row" so that we can keep track of the program's success.

How do I encourage others to donate?

Spread the word!  Let others know about the project and post photos via the Plant a Row, Grow a Row Facebook page and we’ll re-share your post.  You can also volunteer as a neighbourhood drop-off point by filling out the form below and be the donation hub for your neighbours.
