Thank you for your interest in helping out at the London Food Bank (located in Canada’s London). There are a number of areas that you may be interested in becoming involved.
Generally working in our warehouse sorting food and/or assembling hampers
There are a number of special events that happen in our community that benefit the London Food Bank. Often the organizers of these events request that there be a representative of the London Food Bank present at their event. The type and requirements of these events very but may include assisting with one of our food drives or public outreach activities.
Buy Local, Share Local
A Buy Local, Share Local booth is setup at The Covent Garden Outdoor Farmers Market (Saturdays May to Thanksgiving), Western Fair Farmers Market (Saturdays January to November), & The Masonville Farmers Market (Fridays May to Thanksgiving). Donations of fresh produce are collected at these booths from market shopper and vendors. There is an ongoing need for volunteers to staff the booths. We offer opportunities for individuals to join us on select Saturday Mornings. This opportunity is best used by those who are unable to joins us during our week day volunteer hours. To register for a Saturday shift please call Mary Ann at 519-659-4045.
If you are a member of a group or business that is interested in donating some time to the London Food Bank please call (519-659-4045) or email Mary Ann at the Food Bank. Unfortunately the volunteer opportunities offered through selecting the “General Help” box below are not able to accommodate groups.
High School Hours
If you are a high school student looking to serve some of your required community volunteer hours please call the Food Bank on the 20th of the month at 2:45pm and speak with Doug. Space permitting you will be offered an opportunity to acquire some hours during the following month.
